At Woodbridge Model Boat Club we have members who are interested in building and sailing electric powered craft. These models range from detailed scale models, through stand-off scale, sports models down to novelty models and of course our own fleet of Club 500 Fast Electrics, which are basic fast boats suitable for racing on the limited space of our pond, However, the limited space means that we can only race against the clock but not each other.
There is a wealth of experience within the power section so that the newcomer to the hobby can be assured of help at the pondside if needed. Many of our members are active in both the Yacht sailing section and the Power section.
We hold monthly competitive events on Monday/Wednesday mornings through Spring, Summer and Autumn, Steering Competitions which challenge the skill of the owner at the helm of the model, and the Slipway Club 500 racing which is essentially completing a course in the fastest time using the Club500 model which has to be a boat built from the kit to standard specification.
Otherwise, weather permitting, we sail power Models from 10.00am to noon every Monday throughout the year.
If you would like to know more about electric powered model boats do visit us on a Monday morning when there will surely be someone there to chat to you, otherwise contact our Power Secretary, Geoff Lambert. (email@example.com).
The Calendar for our events is on the Programme page of the website.
